KozaVisual was initiated as an audio-visual research and education project commenced in April, 2007 with Ulus Baker's seminar "Visual Thinking". KozaVisual is designed to assemble the potentialities of social sciences and visual arts within the frame of exchanging the means intrinsic to the two: utuilising the audio-visual tools as a way of gathering data in social sciences and familiarize artists with the main subjects of the social sciences. The first phase started on 28th of April and has finalised in August 2007. There had been conferences, seminars and workshops on social sciences; sociology, anthropology, history, philosophy and visual arts, ethnographic film and documentary organized in this phase. The works that have resulted from the first phase was published in October 2007.

The second phase of KozaVisual commenced in October, 2007. Within the frame of the program a series of workshops, seminars and conferences on these fields had been organized and visual field researches on the theme, "Migration and City" realised in Ankara. The third phase was ended by April 2008.

Since the third phase finished, KozaVisual has been involved many institutional and independent organizations and projects like; Ulus Baker Conferences, Video Vortex 3 Ankara Edition, PASO Students Film Festival, Towards a Deeper Understanding of Rural Europe a multidisciplinary visual ethnography Project which was supported by European Union Civil Society Dialogue Programme, Art and Desire Seminars and Dialogue in Motion (ber_A_ber).

KozaVisual has collaborations with Dutch Art Institute, Montevideo Netherlands Media Art Institute, Communication Design Department of Bilkent University, Leiden University Department of Cultural Anthropology and Development Sociology, SAVAN, Amsterdam University Cultural Analysis Program, Strasbourg University, Documentary Film Production Studies, Karşı Sanat Çalışmaları, Cappadocia Art/Eco Platform, Diyarbakır Cinema Workshops, Korotonomedia, and Gyumri City Research Center.
